NameFool
| |
This is always fun. NameFool lets you type in something in an edit box, then tab over so the button is active, and it will change the text under your mouse to the text you typed in. With this you can change the text of all window bars and some buttons and static text. The titlebar of NameFool turns red when the mouse is over text that NameFool thinks it can change. This does no permanent change to the program. This is a simple program in concept, but a creative one. Lots of fun. Try it. Source layout is a little bit different than executable.

WndKill
Window Kill. Similar to Namefool. Whenever wndkill is active (that is, when the titlebar is black) and a key is pressed, wndkill will close whatever window your mouse is over. You can just remove buttons, edit boxes etc. from your favorite programs this way. No permanent harm is done to the program. Be advised that notepad programs can lock up if their edit controls are deleted, and if you close the OK button on a messagebox, you'll never get the messagebox to go away (until you reboot of course), so use this cautiously. The only way to exit this program is to select it, and hit a key when your mouse is over it.

Hide
Inspired by the small monitors in the Courier Room of Delbarton school, this program lets you "store" windows in the F1-F8 keys. Click on the program, move your mouse over something you want to hide, and hit F1. You will be prompted weather or not you want to hide that window. If you select "yes", the 1 on the side of the program turns red. When you want the program again, click on the window and press F1 again. When you exit, all hidden windows will be shown. If you lose track of which window is in which space, click on a red number on the side, and it will display the title and class of that app. This only hides parent windows. The source code has been lost after converting it to VB5 and then deleting VB5, programs, source and IDE alike.

Spy
This 'spy' program displays the name, class, hwnd and parent info of the window under your mouse. This was based on a MS KnowledgeBase article. Source suffered the same fate as Hide.

VB3 Runtimes

If you can't run my VB programs, download this file and unzip it to C:\windows\system. It contains two DLL's needed to run VB apps.
